Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, Durban, South Africa. This role will have a significant impact on the financial management of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fixed Assets Management: You will be responsible for the accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of fixed assets.
  • Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger Reconciliations: Your duties will include reconciling bank statements with general ledger accounts and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Sustainability and Statistics Reporting: You will be responsible for preparing reports on sustainability and statistics, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assisting with Costing and Budgeting: As a Financial Accountant, you will assist with the preparation of budgets and costing analyses, ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.
  • Updating Information on Cloud-Based ERP Software: You will be responsible for updating financial information on our cloud-based ERP software, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Staff Management and Implementation of Key Performance Indicators: In this role, you will be responsible for managing staff and implementing key performance indicators, ensuring that all employees are meeting their targets and contributing to the success of the organisation.

Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting Qualification or CA with Completed Articles: You must have a BCom Accounting qualification or CA with completed articles to be considered for this role.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Financial Policies, Practices, and Regulations: It is essential that you stay up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations, ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Team Player Mentality: As a Financial Accountant, you will work closely with other teams, so excellent interpersonal skills and a team player mentality are essential.
