About Us

We play a vital role in helping the community prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. Our department is dedicated to providing fire, rescue, and emergency management programs and services throughout the state.

Our team encompasses various services, including disaster management, firefighting, and emergency response. We also support other volunteer groups providing emergency services to the community.

Purpose of Role

The Community Engagement team provides opportunities for communities to understand and manage risk, enabling them to be better prepared in an emergency. We manage statewide community programs such as Fire Education; Bushfire Education; and Emergency Preparedness.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will contribute to safety education and awareness initiatives and programs. You will coordinate and monitor activities to support the development of processes and delivery of our programs. You will provide secretariat functions to working groups and administration and project support to ensure strategic coordination and compliance with reporting governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide project and administrative support in the development and review of policy, frameworks, and programs.
  2. Support committees and working groups by preparing agendas, recording and circulating minutes, and following up on actions and decisions.
  3. Manage procurement processes and acquittal of grant funding, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
  4. Coordinate trained personnel to deliver presentations and awareness sessions.
  5. Assist in researching, preparing, and reviewing reports, briefing notes, and submissions.
  6. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Identify information needs and provide advice about progress and milestones.
