The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager Networks Finance, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting for the overall business, partnering with stakeholders and providing them with expert finance advice.

  • Assist in coordinating and controlling the month-end process, ensuring all journals are posted accurately, in a controlled manner and in accordance with policy and deadlines.
  • Support state management accountants in key areas, including cost centre and project forecasts for all cost centres and provide project managers with their monthly results within required timeframes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, particularly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • Liaise proactively with the organisation to identify, address and resolve risks and queries promptly.
  • Assist in project maintenance in Workday, including project creation, close-out, capitalisation and ensuring the integrity of master data.
  • Aid in ensuring that the company complies with all relevant accounting standards and international accounting standards.

About the Team

The Finance function is accountable for delivering management accounting services for the AGN networks (SA, VIC, NSW, QLD), GDI network (QLD) and the Central Ranges network. Finance facilitates decision-making and organisational performance by establishing accounting policy and governance for the group's financial systems.

The team is accountable for statutory financial reporting, treasury back office, company financial policy, technical accounting, regulatory accounting, business advice, finance system support and enhancement. In terms of accounting services provided to managed investments and Networks, this Finance team is further accountable for budgeting & forecasting, haulage revenue, capital and operational expenditure analysis and financial management.
