Associate, Private Equity Investment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Private Equity Investment Professional to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our Private Equity direct investment team, you will be responsible for supporting the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio company management.
The ideal candidate will have excellent financial analysis skills, including high proficiency in financial modeling, and superb quality written work product. You will also have strong team skills, including the ability to operate within team structures, cooperate effectively with junior and senior colleagues, and flex both upwards and downwards when required to ensure every aspect of the investment process is completed successfully.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio company management.
- Prepare and assimilate industry research from internal and external sources.
- Construct accurate and detailed business unit-centric LBO financial models, including 3-statement financial analysis, capital structure analysis, entry and exit analysis, business case sensitivity analysis, and other bespoke financial modeling as required.
- Draft high-quality, detailed investment committee reports while supervising internal and external resources in the process.
- Interact with third-party advisory and due diligence providers, including investment banks, management consultants, accounting and tax professionals, lawyers, and technical consultants.
- Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of business, identifying, addressing, and correcting issues.
- Assist and support the Investment Leader in negotiating debt facilities, purchase agreements, employment, and other commercial agreements for portfolio companies.
- Assist in identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities for portfolio companies, including acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new markets.
