We are seeking a skilled Retail Applications Analyst to become a vital member of our IT Project Team. This newly established position is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a solid background in business analysis within the retail sector.

In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Projects and engage in various dynamic projects. Your responsibilities will encompass requirements analysis, documentation of business needs, process mapping, and proposing effective solutions. You will also support User Acceptance Testing and contribute to the development of comprehensive End User Documentation. Effective communication with stakeholders, coordination of meetings, and the provision of essential documentation in line with project frameworks will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will manage initiatives to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering

  • Identify and compile business requirements through various methods, including workshops, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Conduct gap analysis to compare current and future states.
  • Develop business cases, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate the sign-off process for business and technical requirements with stakeholders.

Solution Acceptance and User Acceptance Testing

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to establish requirements traceability and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide analytical support during testing phases, including the creation of UAT plans.

Project Delivery Management

  • Ensure project scope and priorities are aligned with the Project Manager.
  • Manage smaller-scale projects as necessary.
  • Establish standards for business analysis within the team.
  • Oversee the implementation of change requests through a structured change management process.
  • Complete Solution Overview documentation and ensure effective handover to relevant teams upon project completion.
  • Develop metrics to measure and monitor project success.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel as required.
  • Work autonomously while maintaining a focus on results.

Relationship Management

  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to all relevant parties.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure timely implementation of changes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Applications Business Analysis, particularly within the retail industry.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Ecommerce applications in a retail context.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis principles and tools.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Knowledge of AP21 ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and engagement abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
