About the Role

Our Head of Assurance, Reporting and Compliance will drive BVAC AU's compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies. This role oversees and ensures BVAC AU operates with integrity, developing and implementing assurance, reporting and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and manage the control assurance plan to ensure effective controls in place, reporting on outcomes and recommendations.
  2. Influence leaders and stakeholders to understand the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and risks.
  3. Deliver insightful reporting on assurance outcomes and collaborate with stakeholders to determine remedial action.
  4. Lead the preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely reports for the BVAC AU Risk and Governance forums.
  5. Identify opportunities to uplift risk reporting and provide proactive insights for the business.
  6. Oversee the collection and analysis of data to produce meaningful reports.
  7. Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  8. Provide actionable insights derived from reports to inform data-driven decisions.
  9. Advise the business on non-clinical compliance requirements to ensure obligations are met.
  10. Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations, assessing their impact on BVAC AU and proactively engaging stakeholders.
  11. Develop and implement a risk culture plan aligned to 'The Bupa Way.'
  12. Ensure care homes are prepared for emergency response situations and support the business in the event of an emergency.
  13. BUILD and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders.
  14. Provide leadership and coaching to drive development and improvement opportunities within the team.

Requirements

  1. Tertiary qualifications in business, risk management or a related discipline.
  2. Experience of 10+ years in risk management and/or quality management roles in large organisations in healthcare, insurance and/or financial services.
  3. Experience in designing and documenting controls, developing control test scripts and undertaking assurance.
  4. Strong analytical, verbal and written reporting skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful information.
  5. Strong foundation in logic and highly attuned process orientation, with a focus on root cause analysis and cause/effect.
  6. A proven track record of effective stakeholder management and successfully driving outcomes.
  7. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation and collaboration.
  8. Critical thinking, analysing and evaluating information to make informed decisions and solve problems.
