Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aviation Security Officer to join our team at Launceston Airport. As a key member of our Terminal Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of security and safety for passengers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Screening: Conduct thorough security checks on passengers and their belongings to ensure compliance with aviation security regulations.
  • Access Control: Manage access to security-sensitive areas, including physical searches and identification of prohibited items.
  • Passenger Flow Management: Coordinate the efficient movement of passengers through security screening points.
  • Communication and Decision Making: Demonstrate effective communication and sound decision-making skills to ensure a smooth and secure security process.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and staff, ensuring a positive experience at Launceston Airport.
Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain an ASIC security clearance (Criminal history clearance for the past 10 years).
  • Medical and Drug Screening: Successfully pass drug and alcohol screening, and medical assessments.
  • Certificate II in Transport Security Protection: Hold or be willing to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (required for Aviation Security roles).
  • Availability: True 24/7 availability, including shift work and weekends on a rotating roster.
  • Transportation: Own reliable transportation.
  • Security Awareness: High level of security awareness and focus.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literacy skills (Windows systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Customer Service Experience: Extensive experience in high-quality customer service.
  • Working Rights: Must have full working rights.
