About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contracts Administrator / Project Accountant to join our dynamic team at People Group. In this dual role, you will play a crucial part in the financial and contractual management of our civil construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contracts Administration:
    • Prepare, review, and manage contracts and subcontracts.
    • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
    • Manage variations, claims, and contract disputes.
    • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Project Accounting:
    • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including cost-to-complete and cash flow forecasts.
    • Manage project invoicing, progress claims, and accounts payable/receivable.
    • Assist with project audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in contracts administration and project accounting, preferably within the civil construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts, and financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
