The Claims Management Group plays a pivotal role in Comcare's strategic objectives, focusing on delivering an effective and fully funded workers' compensation scheme for the Australian Public Service. The team collaborates with employers and employees to identify strategies that facilitate early and sustainable return-to-work or recovery at work.
The Claims Administration and Income Support team provides financial services to support claims business management, including calculation and transactional processing of accounts payable and weekly incapacity benefits. The team performs reconciliations of financial information across various sources, identifies anomalies, and addresses these within legislative and policy frameworks. Additionally, they develop and implement financial recovery where opportunities arise, including overpayments and third-party recoveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a large team responsible for timely and accurate calculation and payment of incapacity benefits and recovery of incapacity overpayments.
- Develop staff capability, analyze data and trends to lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement them into business operations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes for clients.
