Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to deliver vocational and non-vocational training in Electrotechnology under the guidance of an experienced educator. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum planning, student engagement, and continuous improvement while building strong industry connections.

  • This is an ongoing, full-time position within our Construction - Electrical department at Heidelberg.
  • The ideal candidate will have relevant vocational qualifications in Electrotechnology, a Grade Electrical License, and demonstrated industry experience.
About The Role

As a Teacher Under Supervision, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing training activities under supervision, creating inclusive and safe learning environments, and supporting students through pastoral care and referrals.

  • You will maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments, engage with industry and vocational education networks, and participate in professional development to maintain vocational currency.
  • In addition, you will ensure compliance with Melbourne Polytechnic policies and VET standards.
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Deliver and assess training activities under supervision.
  2. Create inclusive and safe learning environments.
  3. Support students through pastoral care and referrals.
  4. Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments.
  5. Engage with industry and vocational education networks.
  6. Participate in professional development to maintain vocational currency.
  7. Ensure compliance with Melbourne Polytechnic policies and VET standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant vocational qualifications in Electrotechnology.
  • A Grade Electrical License.
  • Demonstrated industry experience.
  • Actively working towards a training and assessment credential or holding a relevant skill set or secondary teaching qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to accurate record-keeping and compliance.
  • Understanding of OH&S and anti-discrimination legislation.
