The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at PFD Food Services. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our seafood and meat processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of the QMS to ensure its effectiveness and compliance.
  • Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and train the quality assurance team to ensure a high level of competency and performance.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and implement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, inspections, and audits.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
  • Ensure that all quality assurance activities adhere to safety and sanitation standards.

Key Competencies, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the seafood and/or meat processing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GFSI, and other relevant food safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
