This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most. As a Problem Gambling Financial Counsellor, you will provide holistic financial counselling and advocacy services to individuals in financial difficulty or crisis.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Provide comprehensive financial counselling and advocacy services to clients, taking into account their unique circumstances, financial history, and financial behaviors.
  • Conduct group community education sessions on financial literacy and capability, with the aim of helping people build longer-term capability, manage their money better, and make informed choices.
  • Client counselling sessions and community education sessions are conducted regularly, at a rate determined by the Moneycare Manager.
  • Review open cases regularly and close them promptly on completion.
">Requirements:">
  • Accreditation as a Financial Counsellor or willingness to attain as soon as possible.
  • Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or be willing to undertake study from outset.
  • 12+ months experience in a relevant field, preferably in welfare, finance, community services, psychology, or business fields.
  • High level interpersonal, active listening, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency working within a Windows Office environment.

  • This is a fixed term part-time position (30.4 hours per week), based in Mount Gravatt, QLD.
  • Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS (Level 5 Accredited, Level 4 Diploma, Level 3 Training).
