About the Opportunity

This role provides continuity of midwifery care within a caseload model throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postnatal period.

The clinical midwife works within a multidisciplinary team, supporting women either at home or in hospital. The focus is on providing safe, effective care with a woman-centered, culturally appropriate approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, labor, and postnatal periods.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective care to women.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with women and their families to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical governance and patient satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working in midwifery-led models of care.
  • Advanced skills in midwifery practice, including knowledge of current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional guidance for Midwives.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including understanding of the WA Health Aboriginal Cultural Respect Implementation Framework.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, customer service, and clinical governance.
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations regarding Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Work Health and Safety.
