About the Role

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is seeking an experienced Safety and Health Specialist to join our well-established Health, Safety & Sustainability division.

This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity based out of our office. Reporting to the Safety Manager, the primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate all aspects of Health, Safety, Sustainability & Risk Management for Hastings Deering employees working within our operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to foster a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Evaluate and inspect workplace environments, and practices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in pre-shift planning, scheduling and inspections to maintain operational safety.
  • Contribute to and implement our safety management system, aligning with company and legislative requirements.
  • Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations and coordinate accident/incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Workplace Rehabilitation Program for injured employees to ensure optimal recovery and minimised premiums.
  • Conduct inductions and training, ensuring compliance with site and Company requirements.

Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
