Clinical Instructor Role Overview
The role of a Clinical Instructor is pivotal in shaping the learning experience of undergraduate nursing students. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with teaching expertise to join our team and contribute to the education and development of future healthcare professionals.
This part-time position entails providing direct clinical support and instruction to students, helping them develop their skills and confidence, and assessing their progress against set standards. As a Clinical Instructor, you will collaborate with other staff members to ensure that students receive high-quality education and training that prepares them for real-world practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clinical workplace experience at the bedside with students while participating in patient and client care;
- Liaise with colleagues to manage student placements, rostering, and data recording;
- Coordinate and manage the allocated student roster to maintain accurate records;
- Collate and write reports on student performance, including formative and summative assessments, and mid- and final placement feedback.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registration with the relevant professional body as a Registered Nurse;
- A tertiary qualification in adult education or working towards;
- An understanding of education frameworks, including best practices in clinical learning environments;
- Experience working within the healthcare setting, with well-developed knowledge of all clinical areas, disciplines, and ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships;
- Well-developed IT skills, written and verbal communication skills.
