About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Development Coordinator, supporting First Nations People with disability in our community.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing community capacity building projects that promote equitable quality of life for First Nations Australians with disability.

You will identify culturally appropriate, mainstream services for people living with disability, and provide support and linkages to community organizations for those not eligible for the NDIS.

You will also collaborate with regional stakeholders to enhance access and inclusion, and promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community capacity building projects that promote equitable quality of life for First Nations Australians with disability.
  • Identify culturally appropriate, mainstream services for people living with disability.
  • Provide support and linkages to community organizations for those not eligible for the NDIS.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to enhance access and inclusion.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
Requirements
  • Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Proven experience in community development.
  • Understanding of community capacity building.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Great people skills, excellent written communication, and time management.
  • Lived experience or experience caring for someone with a disability (not essential, but a good bonus).
  • Holder of a current driver's license, or probationary license, with access to reliable transport.
