This role is responsible for delivering expert advice on international trade and export control matters to Defence clients. As a key member of the International Export Controls team, you will work closely with capability managers, the Australian Defence Force, and the Australian Embassy in the United States.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Navigate complex international trade issues and provide tailored advice under limited direction.">
  • Lead projects within the advice, business improvement, compliance, or outreach functions.">
  • Develop working-level relationships to support international trade compliance across Defence.">
  • Specialise in certain international trade topics, such as licensing, workforce issues, or the AUKUS licence-free environment.">
  • Identify innovative solutions to meet emergent business requirements.">
  • Provide informal mentorship to junior colleagues.">

About Our Team:

The APS 6 Capability Analyst position sits within the International Export Controls team, which provides Defence with expert advice on complying with its international trade obligations.

">

We sit within the Strategy, Policy and Industry Group, focused on strengthening Australia's national security and economic resilience through international engagement; enhancing ADF capability and decisions; regulating military and dual-use exports in the national interest; and helping build a sovereign industrial base.
