Property Maintenance Specialist

This role plays a vital part in the upkeep and maintenance of school premises and property, ensuring facilities remain in excellent condition through routine and responsive maintenance.

The Property Maintenance Specialist position supports high-quality education by leveraging technology and ensuring it is stable, secure, and sustainable for students, staff, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with scheduled and responsive repairs.
  • Setting up and packing down events.
  • Overseeing the upkeep and procurement of tools and supplies.
  • Performing minor repairs on school property.

Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate a Christ-like example in daily activities.
  • Exercise Christian servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Conduct day-to-day duties prayerfully and consistently with a Biblical lifestyle.
  • Align strategies and actions to the College's vision and mission.

General Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on school buildings, classrooms, and facilities.
  • Inspect and repair doors, windows, locks, and fixtures.
  • Patch and paint walls, ceilings, and surfaces as needed.
  • Fix minor plumbing issues.
  • Maintain and repair school furniture.
  • Timely completion of scheduled maintenance tasks.

Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance:

  • Maintain school grounds, ensuring they are clean, safe, and presentable.
  • Conduct landscaping tasks.
  • Maintain outdoor play equipment.
  • Repair and maintain pathways, driveways, and external structures.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Conduct routine safety checks and inspections on school property.
  • E nsure all maintenance tasks comply with WHS regulations.
  • Identify and report hazards.

Equipment & Resource Management:

  • Maintain tools, machinery, and school maintenance equipment.
  • Order and restock maintenance supplies.

Event & Logistics Support:

  • Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment for school events.
  • Move and arrange furniture as needed.

Requirements:

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Active church attendance.
  • Support for the College's vision and practice.
  • Equivalent experience in maintenance/Property Services roles.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • WHS training or awareness of safety regulations in a school environment.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to child safety in an education setting.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • WHS training or awareness of safety regulations in a school environment.
