Purpose of the Role

This role is an integral part of our collaborative approach to delivering high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services.

You will contribute to improved safety outcomes for the community by attending incidents and emergencies, promoting community safety, and developing your competencies through regular training.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents in a safe and effective manner.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities.
  • Develop and maintain your skills by actively participating in drills and training courses provided by QFES.
  • Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training sessions.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
  • Support incident reporting and general station administration as required.

What You Will Need

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable).
  • The ability to live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.

Salary Information

We offer an attractive salary package, estimated at $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and location. We also provide opportunities for career growth and professional development.
