Senior Occupational Health Specialist

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing VIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Health Specialist to join our Housing, Compliance, Safety & Incident Management team.
As a Senior Occupational Health Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification for Homes Victoria assets. You will also be responsible for promoting a culture of initiative and innovation, improving safety practices, and seeking new ways to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct asset and contractor safety audits to identify hazards and risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and update safety procedures, guidelines, and safety plans to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and government regulations.
- Provide advice, support, and training on safety procedures to employees and contractors.
- Perform regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and government regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends, and develop strategies to improve safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
