About the Role
The ACT Government is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Youth and Families Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services Directorate, you will play a vital role in protecting and supporting vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Develop and implement effective case management plans to address the needs of families and young people.
- Work collaboratively with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide responsive and trauma-informed services.
- Provide support and supervision to young people subject to youth justice orders.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with families and stakeholders.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
- Commitment to the principles of trauma-informed care and cultural safety.
