About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for facilitating and leading commissioning activities on major electrical projects. Your expertise in power systems protection principles and applications will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform HV testing and commissioning of primary equipment, including power transformers, auxiliary transformers, CBs, CTs, VTs, rectifiers, and switchgear.
  • Test SCADA systems and communication systems.
  • Validate design and verify complex protection and control philosophies/schemes.
  • Integrate new protection and control schemes to new and existing 'in service' schemes.
  • Compose and compile commissioning methodology, management plans, relay test plans, ITPs, test reports, commissioning plans, and 'as built' documentation.
  • Manage and lead the delivery of testing and commissioning activities, including managing internal and sub-contracting resources.
  • Develop and implement commissioning sequencing plans and schedules.
  • Communicate and share knowledge to a wide range of internal and external customers with either extensive or no technical background.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems preferred, or a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven industry experience in testing and commissioning primary and secondary protection and control equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge in power systems protection principles and applications.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead commissioning activities in an electrical utility industry.
  • Project management experience, preferably in an electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission, and/or infrastructure environment (advantageous).
  • Experience/exposure to ICE 61850 testing principles (advantageous).
  • Experience with Omicron, Doble, F6150, CMC256, CMC356, CPC100 & CT analyser and SCADA (advantageous).
