Commissioning Engineer

About the RoleWe are currently seeking multiple Commissioning Engineers (junior and senior levels) for permanent full-time opportunities based at our Melbourne CBD Office. These positions will be primarily responsible for facilitating and leading commissioning activities on major electrical projects, with a focus on testing and commissioning of primary and secondary equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform HV testing and commissioning of primary equipment, including power transformers, auxiliary transformers, circuit breakers, current transformers, voltage transformers, rectifiers, and switchgear.
- Perform secondary injection relay testing in transmission, distribution, generation, and traction environments.
- Test SCADA systems and communication systems.
- Validate design and verify complex protection and control philosophies/schemes.
- Integrate new protection and control schemes to new and existing 'in service' schemes.
- Compose and compile commissioning methodology, management plans, relay test plans, ITPs, test reports, commissioning plans, and 'as built' documentation.
- Manage and lead the delivery of testing and commissioning activities, including managing internal and subcontracting resources.
- Develop and implement commissioning sequencing plans and schedules.
- Communicate and share knowledge to a wide range of internal and external customers with varying technical backgrounds.
- Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems preferred, or a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven industry experience in testing and commissioning primary and secondary protection and control equipment.
- Advanced knowledge in power systems protection principles and applications.
- Proven ability to develop and lead commissioning activities in an electrical utility industry.
- Project management experience, preferably in an electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission, and/or infrastructure environment (advantageous).
- Experience/exposure to ICE testing principles (advantageous).
- Experience with Omicron, Doble, F, CMC, CPC, and CT analyser and SCADA (advantageous).
