
Compliance Officer

As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organization adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains a strong compliance culture.
Your New RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work closely with our Compliance Manager to deliver a program that supports critical and highly prioritized projects for the organization.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the completion of delivered risk assessments as it relates to impacted compliance obligations and risks.
- Collaborating with legal, risk, and governance colleagues as well as obligation owners, to ensure compliance risks are identified and will be appropriately managed upon delivery of the project.
- Working with project stakeholders to develop compliant and business-appropriate solutions to manage compliance risks and issues.
- Reviewing and/or designing essential documentation required as part of the projects such as policies, standards, processes, procedures, or similar.
- Reviewing any externally facing communications and collateral as it relates to the deliverables of the projects.
- Understanding the needs and objectives of the stakeholders to facilitate constructive conversations and strong business outcomes.
- Understanding the rationale and drivers for the organization's strategic projects to support sound judgment and risk-based decision making.
What You'll Need
- Strong experience in a compliance and legal role within financial services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of superannuation laws and/or financial services laws (financial advice) and related regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, research, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with obligations management systems and risk assessment tools.
- Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks.
- Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of personal integrity as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters.
- Ability to develop and maintain high-quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the organization.
