POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated Agricultural Quality Control Specialist to join our team in Mutchilba QLD 4872.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma or higher qualification along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Agricultural Quality Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to conduct inspections of orchards and produce to ensure compliance with industry and government standards regarding quarantine, biosecurity, and food safety.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Your tasks will include:
- Performing comprehensive inspections of agricultural products, such as lychees, longans, and limes, to verify adherence to quality standards set by regulatory authorities and market requirements.
- Monitoring the growth of fruit, assessing quality through visual and taste evaluations, checking for chemical residues, pest damage, and overall plant health.
- Ensuring that the packing facility is well-maintained and operational to support optimal production.
- Providing training and guidance to farm workers involved in harvesting and inspection processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
- Instructing farm workers on proper procedures for assessing the quality and grading of produce.
- Inspecting equipment in the packaging facility to ensure it is functioning correctly, preventing damage to produce, and arranging maintenance as needed.
- Reviewing final packed products to confirm they meet established quality standards.
- Overseeing the storage conditions of produce to ensure compliance with temperature control regulations.
- Collecting and analyzing inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement in product quality, yield, and efficiency, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene regulations during all processes related to harvesting, handling, and packaging to maintain product integrity and minimize contamination risks.
- Collaborating with farm managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection results, address quality-related concerns, and develop strategies to enhance productivity and sustainability.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
