Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Engagement & Contracting Managers to negotiate and manage contracts with healthcare providers, ensuring regular informal and formal engagement structures to manage relationships.
- Coach, develop, and uplift team members, providing regular feedback to support growth and development.
- Champion and drive engagement and culture uplift initiatives to support a high-performance team culture.
- Collaborate with the Health Transformation team to implement the strategic component of the Hospital Engagement framework.
- Collaborate with the Network Performance and Optimisation Team to develop metrics and tracking that reports on the health of Private Hospitals and the overall network.
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies with customer outcomes at the heart of the negotiations for their allocated portfolio of healthcare providers.
- Ensure the appropriate management of all relationships and associated benefit outlay for healthcare providers within the allocated portfolio.
- Work with the Head of Commercial to maintain appropriate governance structures, manage renewal periods, and spread the renewal workload over a 3-year plan.
- Work with providers to lead to better outcomes for the customer, the provider, and Bupa.
- Significant experience (10+ years) in leadership roles with demonstrated ability to drive culture change, skills uplifts, and employee engagement in complex, high-pressure environments.
- Track record of developing and leading high-performing teams, able to develop strong team cohesion and a commitment to coaching and development of teams to ensure they deliver extraordinary results.
- Significant experience (10+ years) in a healthcare environment and negotiation of complex and high-value contracts with large enterprise organizations and ongoing contract management disciplines.
- Working knowledge of Casemix Funding Systems.
- Deep understanding of the private and public healthcare systems and industries and the related regulatory environments.
- Proven ability in partnership & alliance negotiation and understanding of negotiation strategies and scenario planning.
- A track record of achievement and delivery in relevant commercial fields with previous experience in public health environments advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management (internal/external) and ability to build strong business relationships at a senior level and able to identify business development opportunities for Bupa with Hospital groups.
- Deep understanding of business planning and managing outcomes against both target and forecast and experience of working with actuarial teams would be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualifications are desirable and skills or training in business management, health service, or related disciplines.
- Proven capacity to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences – including gathering requirements and presenting results.
- Exceptional written and presentation skills and the ability to convert data into insight and prepare compelling, persuasive reports and presentations suitable for executive and board level content.
