Job Title: Family Support Specialist

This is an opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. As a Family Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering client-centered services that aim to reduce risks and promote positive change within home environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for the needs of Aboriginal individuals, contributing to culturally sensitive case plans.
  • Embody trauma-informed care principles, integrating them into daily work practices.
  • Foster respectful relationships with stakeholders, government departments, and the community for seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans in collaboration with families and other service providers, conducting regular in-home visits to support goal achievement.
  • Ensure that client voices are heard in case planning and goal setting.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure that case plan goals are realistic and achievable.
  • Support and engage parents and children attending playgroups.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in human services (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; degree qualifications preferred).
  • Practical experience working with vulnerable families and ability to identify at-risk children and young people.
  • Expertise in client-centered case management.
  • Knowledge of the community services sector, trauma, crisis impacts, child protection issues, and relevant legislation.
