About the Role

We are seeking a Building Inspector Cadet to join our team in the Sapphire Coast region.

The successful candidate will undertake the UTS Open short course and commence study of an Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying to become a registered certifier.

They will also gain hands-on experience as a Building Inspector under the mentorship of a highly qualified team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Crown Certificates, and Building Code of Australia Reports.
  • Carry out critical stage inspections.
  • Provide building compliance advice to a wide range of clients.
  • Investigate and resolve customer requests.
  • Be involved in business improvement strategies.
  • Represent our organisation at industry events, functions, and seminars as required.
Requirements
  • A passion for the construction industry and a desire to build a career in certification.
  • A trade background is advantageous but not essential.
  • A White Card and strong safety focus.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe, and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.
  • High-level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task while keeping projects on track.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the desire to find alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • A valid driver's license and full working rights for Australia.
