Virtual Health Clinician Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional virtual care through the Healthdirect Helpline, supporting Australians with their health concerns.

  • Deliver accurate and empathetic health information and assessments over the phone.
  • Conduct thorough telephone evaluations to determine the best course of action.
  • Recommend the most suitable time and place for care, taking into account individual needs and circumstances.
  • Refer patients to relevant services such as GP Helplines, Urgent Care Clinics, and Virtual Emergency Departments when necessary.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • A strong background in clinical practice, with at least 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) experience within the last 5 years.
  • A nursing career that involves substantial public interaction.
  • The ability to apply critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations across all age groups and clinical presentations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools.
Key Details

This part-time or full-time opportunity requires a commitment of minimum 20 hours per week. Shift length ranges from 2 to 10 hours, and operational hours are between 5 PM – 5 AM, Monday to Saturday.
