Senior Communications Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of communication networks and protocols, as well as excellent technical skills.

The role involves administering and maintaining Motorola P25 Network management-tool and architecture, providing technical support to critical communication networks, and ensuring seamless connectivity for emergency services agencies and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert support and maintenance around Motorola P25 to critical communication networks.
  • Support Motorola P25 Network management-tool and architecture.
  • Assist the technical change management process by testing changes in configuration or software affecting End User Devices.
  • Escalate and provide support to level 3 support as required.
  • Perform engineering support to broader NOCC, L2, and field teams where required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An advanced understanding of protocols, standards, and interfaces that enable interoperability between core elements or different vendors within a network.
  • DC power systems and batteries are essential knowledge areas.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Diploma equivalent.
  • Preferably 15+ years in mobile communications systems engineering roles or related telecommunication industry experience.
