About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Technology, Procurement and Commercial Legal group, you will provide strategic legal services and support to multiple business units across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide solutions-focused, commercial legal advice to a diverse range of stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including master service arrangements, material statements of work, software licensing agreements, and other bespoke contracts.

As a senior legal counsel, you will also have the opportunity to provide strategic input and legal solutions on other business matters, including group transformation projects, outsourcing arrangements, mergers and acquisitions transactions, corporate restructures, regulatory compliance reviews, and annual disclosure assessments.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong relationship-oriented mindset, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the capacity to work autonomously as well as part of teams or projects. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • a proven track record as a legal practitioner in Australia (6-8 years PQE)
  • private practice or in-house experience involving technology contracting, outsourcing, and general commercial vendor contract reviews and negotiations
  • strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate and draft on material agreements of strategic importance
  • ability to draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to ensure they meet industry standards
  • knowledge of technology law, operational risk management regulations, privacy and data protection, including APRA and other prudential standards which apply to Australian ADIs, Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules
  • ability to manage multiple projects and tight timeframes effectively
