Join our culinary team as a Chef & Cook

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to lead the preparation and presentation of traditional Nepali & Indian dishes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, presenting and cooking food in Nepali & Indian cuisine.
  • Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians and kitchen staff.
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
  • Selecting and training staff.
  • Managing freezing and preservation of food.
  • Creating a vision for the cuisine, inspiring your team and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Recruiting, motivating and managing staff.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ordering supply and undertaking the kitchen inventory.
  • Overseeing hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant work experience.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and OH&S Standards.
  • Ability to work closely with management to ensure the consistent high-quality service is provided.
  • Basic knowledge of Indian and Nepali dishes is desired.
