The Senior Brand Manager role is a highly strategic and business-critical position accountable for developing and implementing strategic brand plans and initiatives. As the brand custodian, strive to achieve sustainable organic growth with a clear foundation of consumer insights, brand positioning and innovation, and develop marketing plans resulting in sales, profit, share and equity gain.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic brand planning, securing buy-ins from the business through data-driven insights, persuasive storytelling and clear articulation of brand value and ROI.
- Develop and implement the full marketing mix, including commercial programs; media planning and evaluation; packaging design development; go-to-market strategy; and collaboration with the shopper team for in-store activation.
- Closely collaborate with creative, media and PR agencies to bring bold, insight-driven campaigns to life across all channels.
- Act as the voice of the brand at leadership meetings, effectively communicating consumer trends, market dynamics and brand performance to drive informed decisions.
- Identify consumer insights through project management of product innovation (proposition, concept testing, product specification and commercialization) partnering with R&D teams.
- Analyse and review consumer, category and competitive information as part of a situation assessment of brand performance and identification of growth opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and impactful brand execution.
- Develop a 2-3 year strategic innovation pipeline with the global and local commercial team.
- Mentor junior members of the marketing team.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in marketing, business or related commercial fields.
- 5+ years in brand or product management, ideally within FMCG.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen - budgeting, forecasting and P&L ownership.
- Creative thinking paired with data-driven decision making.
- Experience in NPD - ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop products from ideation to launch.
- Entrepreneurial can-do attitude, with the ability to find ways to break down growth barriers and navigate changing circumstances.
- Aspiration to develop into a Marketing Manager in the future.
