High Voltage Projects Professional

A high voltage projects professional is sought after to join our team as a Senior Substation Engineer. In this role, you will play an integral part in bringing ideas to life for clients across Western Australia's energy and resources sectors.
You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals on a wide variety of projects, conducting, leading, reviewing, and verifying detail designs and technical reports for the client, including substation primary or secondary systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design Development: Conducting, leading, reviewing, and verifying detail designs and technical reports for the client, including substation primary or secondary systems.
- Project Leadership: Lead and deliver concepts to detailed designs for substation equipment up to transmission voltages.
- Collaboration: Developing and optimising designs for substations to meet client needs, including working with civil and mechanical engineers.
- Engineering Studies: Collaborating with Aurecon's Engineers and Designers undertake engineering studies as necessary to develop designs for high voltage primary systems, and/or design of secondary protection and control systems.
- Documentation: Working with drafting experts to produce single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, equipment/materials lists, clearance checks, and substation / control room layouts as defined with technical engineering calculations.
- Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring designs are compliant with all relevant Australian and local regulations and standards.
- Client Management: Being responsive to client's needs and maintaining a reputation for quality and timely advice, working closely with cross-functional project teams and project managers to support client needs and financial decisions.
- Technical Leadership: Providing technical leadership to team members and the ability to work in cross-functional teams to support the diverse project requirements of our clients.
- Bachelor degree qualification in electrical (or related) engineering.
- Experience in high voltage projects in Western Australia and/or the Northern Territory as a consultant, developer, owner or contractor in the energy and/or mining or resources sector.
- Knowledge of the transmission and distribution industry, standards, and codes in Australia and/or design experience with Australian electrical utilities.
- Proficiency in offering solutions to technical challenges.
- Strong technical capability and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with clients.
