Intermediate Structural Designer

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate-level Structural Designer to join our Housing team in Brisbane.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality and innovative structural designs and documentation for building structures with medium to large complexity, such as architecturally designed houses, estate development of units/townhouses, and associated facilities like community centers, gymnasiums, etc.

  • They will also be accountable for managing projects from concept design to construction within a timely delivery framework, supported by collaborative BE teams.

  • Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in client management with existing clients and other relevant project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

  • They will also play a key role in developing graduate/junior engineers within the team, aligning with company goals, procedures, and strategy.

  • The suitable candidate will have a minimum qualification of Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution and 1-3 years post-grad structural design experience in residential or building industry.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing residential/low-rise structural buildings.

  • Proficient in using timber structures, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and designs of waffle, raft, suspended slab, retaining walls, etc.

  • Advanced ability to interpret the requirements of Australian standards and building codes, design in accordance with AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC, etc.
