Better Place Australia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Contact Service Worker to join our team in Narre Warren. As a key member of our Children's Contact Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate supervised visits and changeovers for children and their separated parents, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop plans to support clients' access to our services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and client records, adhering to best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with parents, family members, legal representatives, court staff, and other caseworkers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide information and support to parents accessing our services, ensuring referrals are made where necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related Human Services field, with eligibility for membership in AASW, AAFT, APS, or PACFA.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of child development, family violence, strength-based assessments, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly in family conflict situations.
  • Direct experience in supervised contact services for children and young people of separated parents.
  • Strong understanding of family law and its impact on families in conflict.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive communications and work with diverse client groups.
  • Demonstrated case work or case management experience.
