About Our Client

Workforce Extensions is a reputable organisation dedicated to serving and supporting our local community. We are seeking a Support Officer - Disability Transport to provide essential supervision and support to students with a disability during their weekday school bus commute.

Job Description

As a Support Officer - Disability Transport, you will be employed through the Department of Education on a temporary basis during the school year. Your primary responsibilities will include accompanying students on the bus, providing supervision and maintaining effective communication with students, parents, and teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Abide by the Department of Education's Child Protection and Code of Conduct policies
  • Supervise students with a disability during transport to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Maintain a courteous and respectful relationship with students, drivers, contractors, parents, schools, and Workforce Extensions staff
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience for students
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Be punctual and reliable in ensuring students get to and from school
  • Undertake mandatory online and in-person training as required
Requirements
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years
  • Physical ability to perform the duties, including assisting students with a disability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Respectful and understanding attitude towards students with a disability
  • Valid employment Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance
  • Current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain
