Our ideal candidate will possess a strong background in support work, with the ability to implement safe and effective infection control practices.

The role involves providing varied support to individuals with behaviour support needs, which may include transporting clients to appointments, assisted living, sleepovers, shopping, personal care, and reading and implementing complex support plans.

Key Responsibilities

Support workers will be required to:

  • Transport clients to medical appointments and other events
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Engage clients in physical activity and sports-based programs
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised support plans
  • Monitor and report any changes in client behaviour or well-being

Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in support work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
  • A valid driver's licence and access to an insured vehicle

Working Conditions

Support workers can expect to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. The role requires flexibility and adaptability, as working hours and duties may vary depending on client needs.
