**Role Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Child Protection Navigator to join our team in Mildura/Swan Hill. As a Practice Leader, you will be responsible for activating the Family Preservation and Reunification Response, supporting the activation of the Response at the right time, with the right people, and in the right place.
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate an understanding of the legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities. They will also be able to model and enhance trauma-informed, culturally safe, and responsive practice that is child- and family-centered, relational, and evidence-informed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the activation of the Response at the right time, with the right people, and in the right place.
- Providing guidance and advice to the broader sector and community partners/stakeholders on risk assessment and analysis.
- Leading and articulating the department's position at meetings and forums using a conciliatory approach, focusing on client safety and wellbeing.
