Support Worker

We are seeking dedicated and caring individuals to fill part-time support worker positions. As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in providing practical assistance and emotional support to individuals with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, ensuring their wellbeing and safety.
  • Assist individuals with their medication and attend medical appointments with them as required.
  • Promote independence and encourage individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Maintain accurate records and document all activities in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with other professionals involved in the individual's care, including family members, social workers, and healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience with PEG feeding, hoist transfers, and medication prompting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • NDIS Screening Check.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a positive attitude towards supporting others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect individuals' privacy.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and willingness to follow policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate III or IV qualification in Individual Support or Disability.
  • Fully vaccinated (COVID-19, flu, whooping cough, measles, Hepatitis B, and chicken pox).
  • Full working rights and access to a car with a full Australian driver's license.
  • Currently hold or willing to obtain a National Police Check.
  • 6 months plus paid experience in providing care and support to individuals with a range of needs.
