About the Role

Koala is seeking an experienced 3D artist who specialises in the creation of realistic 3D renders for furniture industrial design and high-impact visual assets for marketing and communications. Reporting to the Head of Creative, you will be responsible for leading the development of realistic furniture renders to exact specifications, crafting visually stunning, detailed, and operational digital representations of our award-winning furniture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create realistic 3D renders of furniture industrial designs, focusing on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop highly detailed and realistic fabrics and materials to enhance the realism of the renders.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure that each model meets specifications and design requirements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling visual assets for promotional materials and marketing campaigns.
  • Gather information to create models: sketches, drawings, photographs, and video, materials, finished product samples – in general, everything that will help to understand the appearance and structure of the object.
  • Oversee and maintain a library of furniture models built in collaboration with Cylindo.
  • Manage the day-to-day project management and workflow of 3D Assets for Koala with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in 3D rendering and industrial design.

Ideal Background

  • An expert in 3D modelling able to accurately replicate furniture to provided specifications.
  • An exacting eye for detail and a passion for creating highly detailed and life-like fabrics and materials.
  • Proven experience as a 3D artist specialising in furniture industrial design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Proven experience in developing and optimising materials library – creating accurate and richly detailed materials and textures to accurately represent products.
  • Experience working with the Chaos platform, with a strong understanding of web-based AR platforms.
  • Familiarity with Cylindo is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
