About the Role
The Family Support Coordinator role is a dynamic position that requires an individual with a strong passion for supporting families and children. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for helping schools create a nurturing environment that fosters positive relationships between children, families, and educators.
You will work closely with classroom teachers, teacher aides, and specialist support staff to understand each child's needs and connect families with services such as health, therapeutic, and developmental interventions. This may involve working with vulnerable children from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations children, children with disability, and those in care.
One of your primary responsibilities will be to support family capacity building to assist their child's learning, development, and wellbeing. You will also help school communities advocate for vulnerable children and families to address their needs and facilitate engagement in learning for improved outcomes.
A successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families and school staff. You will also have experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, or be willing to learn and develop this skill.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with families and school staff
- Knowledge of local service providers and agency supports
