Job Opportunity: Specialist Palliative Care Physician

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a specialist palliative care physician. The role will involve providing medical support and clinical leadership to the Bendigo Health Specialist Palliative Care Service and its patients, including the Loddon Mallee Specialist Palliative Care Consultancy Team, Bendigo Community Specialist Palliative Care Service, and the Inpatient Specialist Palliative Care Unit.

The successful candidate will have strong clinical experience working in specialist palliative care, as well as the ability to teach, mentor, and inspire doctors in training. They will also be able to demonstrate leadership skills and participate in quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist palliative medical support and clinical leadership to the Bendigo Health Specialist Palliative Care Service and its patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for doctors in training.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Full unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner/Specialist in Specialist Palliative Care.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
  • Clinical experience working in specialist palliative care.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and inspire doctors in training.
