Leading Critical Care Nurse

The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the ICU Director oversees the strategic and operational direction, support and ongoing service development of the Intensive Care Services. The NM is responsible for effective management of nursing services and resources within the ICU.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing leadership on best practice in clinical, human resource and financial management.
- Managing nursing services and resources within the ICU.
- Working collaboratively with the Nursing Manager and Department Head to provide leadership on best practice.
Staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model promoting a culture that reflects NSW Health CORE values: Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
The nurse manager works closely with the ICU Director to ensure the intensive care service operates according to best practices, critical care management, ministry of health policies, organisational plans and business rules.
It is also the responsibility of the nurse manager to ensure the core behaviours identified as integral to achieving the vision for nursing and midwifery at St George Hospital are embedded into all aspects of the ICU's operations.
