Key External Communications Position
TasWater is a leading water and sewerage service provider, serving over 460,000 customers in Tasmania.
This position plays a crucial role in managing and delivering engaging external communications that build trust and confidence with customers, stakeholders, and the broader community. As a key member of our high-level communications team, you will work closely with colleagues to achieve our vision and goals.
- Manage a range of external communication projects, prioritising tasks, aligning efforts to strategy, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide expert advice on effective customer communications to strategic leaders, internal business partners, and project owners.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, identifying and responding to emerging opportunities and risks.
- Develop compelling communications materials, such as media releases, editorials, fact sheets, background documents, and Q&As for spokespersons.
- Coordinate media events and alerts, highlighting unique stories from across the business.
For success in this role, we seek an individual with:
- Formal qualifications in media, communications, public relations, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in external communications within a complex organisation.
- Understanding of Tasmanian media outlets and the local political landscape.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences.
- Strong verbal communication skills, quickly building rapport with stakeholders.
