About SLR and the Role
SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd (SLR) is a globally recognised environmental consultancy that provides high-quality tailored services to a diverse range of clients. We are seeking an experienced Associate Aquatic Ecologist to join our Aquatic Environmental Services team in Queensland.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have relevant experience in assessment and management of ecological matters in consulting, government, or industry. You will have a demonstrated ability to develop a client base and professional network relevant to your role. You will also enjoy collaborating on projects and initiatives with our national team and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business.
Key Responsibilities and Ideal Experience
- Contribute your technical leadership skills in aquatic environmental services and be recognised for your specialist knowledge.
- Excellent data analysis skills using multivariate techniques, and proven ability to prepare reports to public review standard.
- Laboratory experience sorting, enumeration, identification, sample preparation, etc.
- Ability to lead and contribute to projects across freshwater and marine environments, in order to achieve timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Experienced in project management including budgeting, invoice drafting, and client liaison.
- Demonstrated experience preparing aquatic impact assessments and having knowledge of appropriate legislation.
- Ability to undertake aquatic/water quality fieldwork in remote areas.
- Co-manage the maintenance, repair, and storage of field gear.
