Job Description:

Driving business growth in the public sector requires a strong understanding of customer needs and market trends.

You will utilise your expertise to acquire new business, build successful customer relationships, and develop sales acquisition strategies that drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build key relationships with new customers within the state & territory and local government space.
  2. Provide analysis, identification and qualification of large and/or complex opportunities within this industry.
  3. Effectively manage sales pipeline and accurately report on sales figures.
  4. Be a consultative partner to prospective customers, with a deep knowledge of their strategic direction and business needs.
  5. Identification and qualification of large and/or strategic deals using Vocus' sales methodology.
  6. Develop a deep understanding of the market, competitors and customers to identify business needs, issues and strategies.
  7. Using Vocus sales methodology and market insights, develop customer focused sales acquisition strategies that drive sustainable growth.
  8. Analyse and explore business and market trends and stay updated about new technological developments and trends taking place in the industry.
  9. Work closely with partners in order to maintain a high level of product knowledge and understanding of the value proposition.
  10. Be aligned with external partners to identify opportunities for Strategic Sales.
  11. Coach and upskill the sales team and colleagues to continuously improve delivery of results that support the strategic objectives.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in customer facing acquisition/business development roles.
  • Sound product and industry knowledge coupled with the ability to deal with clients at the C-Suite level and translate client needs into a complete solution.
  • Strong experience in engaging directly with customers and forming relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships and networking with professionals of all organisational levels.
  • Expert in state and territory and local government with strong market knowledge and active role externally.
