About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our Group Engineering team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work closely with tender, project, plant, and fabrication teams to develop innovative methods and temporary works solutions across all disciplines of construction.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing engineering solutions that meet the needs of our customers and communities.
- Working closely with our tender, project, plant, and fabrication teams to develop innovative methods and temporary works solutions.
- Undertaking and/or overseeing engineering and design activities to a high technical standard.
- Applying your engineering knowledge and experience to overcome complex challenges.
- Supporting the operational needs of the business and providing engineering solutions and design activities as required.
- Assisting and overseeing the outsourcing of engineering services related to the methods and temporary works solutions.
- Actively engaging in the strategic training, development, and support of operational project teams in the management and delivery of engineering activities.
- Supporting knowledge building activities including other construction engineers and design personnel across the business.
- Attending project sites to support the implementation of engineering solutions.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction with significant and recent exposure to design and engineering of temporary works.
- Demonstrated capability in development of innovative concepts for solutions to technical, complex issues.
- Competent understanding of Australian and International codes and standards.
- Self-sufficient, requiring minimal supervision with focus on pragmatic and technically sound and safe design.
- Strong oral and written presentation ability linked with sound relationship and integrity record.
- Lead, organise and motivate others.
- Competent in use of relevant design and modelling software.
