Heavy Duty Mechanic Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Fitter to join our mobile plant maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to work on ultra-class excavators in a high-output environment.

About the Role
  • Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on complex machinery including Liebherr R996, Liebherr R9800, and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, slew rings, undercarriage components, and electrical control systems.
  • Conduct structural inspections and component replacements in accordance with OEM specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and planners to align maintenance priorities with production targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certification III in Mobile Plant or Heavy Diesel Fitting - must include hydraulic and electrical competencies.
  • Proven experience working with Liebherr R996/R9800 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
  • Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP or Pronto CMMS software.
