Job Summary:

Visy Automation is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for conducting machine installations, maintenance servicing, and repairs in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct service and repair work on Visy Automation and other suppliers' equipment.
  • Provide PLC, Touch Screen, and robotic programming support/modifications.
  • Create and modify AutoCAD drawings for circuit diagrams.
  • Train machine operators and maintenance personnel on-site.
  • Recommend efficiency and maintenance modifications to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Suggest accessibility and mechanical improvements during the machine build cycle.
  • Offer after-sales support for machine maintenance and quality issues.
  • Provide detailed and itemized reports of all service, installation, and breakdown calls.
  • Source and benchmark competitive price options for components.
  • Maintain a high level of single instance repairs.
  • Train customers' employees to develop technical abilities and maximize machine performance and safety.
  • Work outside normal hours as needed to support customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications.
  • A Grade Electrical Licence is highly desirable.
  • Solid industrial post-trade experience, ideally within packaging, FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of PLC Programming systems desirable.
  • Computer savvy with experience using MS Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
